Per Bonvig Christensen is Chair of the Professional Committee at the Villum Foundation for Children, Youth and Science, as well as Chair of the Board of VIA University College and VUC København Syd.
He previously served for many years as Director of Children and Culture and as Chair of the Accreditation Council for Higher Education.
He has extensive knowledge of the entire education sector and is particularly specialised in vocational education and training, the entire FGU field, and in how the education system can be designed to reduce inequality and promote equal opportunities. Among other roles, he has been appointed as a member of the Reform Commission, served as Chair of the Teacher Commission, Chair of Danish SOSU Schools, and for a number of years as Chair of the Directors of Children and Culture. Most recently, he was a member of the FGU Task Force.
Per Bonvig Christensen qualified as a primary school teacher in 1981 and has since completed a range of executive leadership and board education programmes. Throughout his career, he has been active in many of the country’s most important education forums.
